January 2025 Update

Here we are nearly three weeks into the new year, and at last we are beginning to see an uptick in listing activity. With this new activity we have seen some interesting, attractive and well-priced properties come to market and I am hopeful that the trend continues. December’s rate cuts have yet to deliver any substantial increase in sales activity and I’m not expecting that to be solidly evident until the end of February. Buyers still have the good fortune of being able to shop for – and negotiate terms and conditions on – their preferred properties both at their leisure and without the pressure of significant competition. Sellers should expect a period of increased competition amongst themselves as spring approaches and our listing activity really ramps up. Smart pricing will be key to avoiding prolonged exposure. Squamish remains as attractive as ever, and this just might be the best time in recent years to be a buyer. This is very good news for sellers too.
